Well it seems like an
explanation is over due, so here you go.
What is a geek?
Are they different from normal people? Nerds?
Are they all intelligent?
Book smart? Or is
there some other attribute that marks their geekness?
The dictionary defines a geek as
a peculiar or otherwise dislikable person, esp.
one who is perceived to be overly intellectual.
The term originated as a description for
a carnival performer who performed sensationally
morbid or disgusting acts, as biting off the head of a live chicken.
I propose that a geek is
more than this though. Geeks have the ability to focus on
something to the exclusion of all else.
Be it books, TV, computers, sports, or any of the other millions
of hobbies. They have the
ability to shut out the world around them and are able to retain large
amounts of information that may be inconsequential to almost anyone
else.
A geek isn’t necessarily
very smart, shy, socially inept, or any of the other things that pop
culture would have you believe.
So stay tuned and meet our geeks.
Also I would like to direct
everyone's attention to our very first banner! YEAH! This is
a link to the email for Jeff H of MSM Promotions. He's going to be
making all the cool swag we'll have someday. Until then if you
want to customize your own t-shirts, posters, or anything else you can
put your name on then send him an email and your business.
